Gabriel was an archangel known to various religions for delivering messages from God. Gabriel is reffered to in the bible as male, however many interpretations of Gabriel show Gabriel as female or androgynous. Gabriel appeared once in the old testament; delivering explanations of visions in the book of Daniel, and foretelling the birth of Jesus to the virgin Mary and Zachariah in the Gospel of Luke.
